Stars on the right

I know I am asking for trouble by starting this so I’ll ask up front. Behave! I am not asking for opinions about politics. Remember this is CS. If you want to bat around the same tired arguments or try to score points, GD is down the hall on the left.

Sooooo anyway. In honor of primary season here it is. Seems like there are many more liberal or left leaning Hollywood stars. At least more vocal ones. So who are the Republicans, conservatives or closet conservatives? I know a few. Hell maybe I know them all and there aren’t that many. So the ones I know:

Tom Selleck
Ron Silver
Jackie Mason
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Dennis Hopper
Jon Voight
Chuck Norris

Seems like there are a couple big ones that I seem to be forgetting but thats what you are for. I’m looking more for current stars but if you want to name some old ones like John Wayne be my guest.

Bruce Willis

I was going to mention Bruce but I would say more libertarian than anything else but over the years he has been all over. Some of his views especially in the past could put him in this category. He is currently claiming to be an independant.

Ben Stein. May not be a “star” but he’s Hollywood.

I’ve heard that Drew Carey is right or libertarian, but I don’t really know for sure.

Clint Eastwood

Kevin Costner
Greg Kinnear
Dennis Miller (is he a star?)

Adam Sandler supported Giuliani.

Dennis Miller.

He has also described himself as a Libertarian, despite being a registered Republican.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone are Libertarians as well.

Libertarian counts as right wing, IMO, notwithstanding the sheep’s clothing.

I didn’t look at everyone one that list but some of the claims seem tenuous at best. Apparently Yaphet Kotto is running for president in 2008.

Mel Gibson

And Scott Baio probably just attended Reagan’s funeral to score with Nancy since she’s the only famous woman from the 80s he hasn’t (to the best of my knowledge) boinked.

Jackie Mason’s still alive?

StG

Down the hall. To the left.

Absolutely. In recent years he has done some very sucessful one man shows on Broadway.

ETA: After Caddyshack 2 it should be illegal to mention his name and the word star in the same sentence.

That’s better than some on the list. I just clicked on 5 or 6. When you go to the link for their bio there is no mention of any kind of politics. For instance Nancy Cartwrigt. It mentions that she donated $10million dollars to Scientology in 2007 but no mention of politics.

Gary Oldman. Yeah, I know he’s a Brit, but he’s come out before in support of conservative causes and Republicans. Since he used to be married to Uma Thurman, might she be included on the list?

I’ve never actually seen an epsiode of Wonder Years, but I remember reading that Fred Savage attended Nixon’s funeral because he wanted to pay respect to “an American hero” or something like that.

George Carlin and Gallagher are slowly becoming the same person: both of them have been reduced to spewing rants of intolerance instead of, oh say comedy, in their acts. They *smell *like rightwingnuts, but I’m not sure if either one would categorize himself that way.
