When I’m recording stuff through the Line in of my computer, I will occasionally get a slight stutter in the final recording - like a dropped word here and there. If I shut down every non-essential program, the problem goes away. Is there a way to create a startup disc that would only load the very basics of Windows ME? It’s a pain to do the ctrl-alt-del a dozen times each time I want to record.
There is a freeware bit of software out there called enditall or end it all. I use it. It shuts down all unessential programs for you. it’s great. You can specify whhat programs you want protected from shut down. it’s a lot easier than a reboot or dtl-alt-del ing all of them…
you could use start/run/msconfig and configure a selective startup.
If I did that, could I create a startup disc with the new information?
No. You don’t need one though. You can switch back and forth between a Normal startup and your Selective one at will by using msconfig.
I’m going to try that. I downloaded EndItAll and, after reading the instructions, I’d be doing almost as much work using it as I would if did the three-finger-salute. Thanks for the all the info, though.
