I remember that one! Mainly because the next week, they had a full apology and retraction in there. Everyone thought, “Oh, oh> They’ve pissed off the wrong person this time”. Then the last line was "Governor Thompson actually declared October ‘Whack Your Willy Silly Month’ " I about fell off my chair on that one, because the retraction was completely believable up to that point

Of course, the funniest article was “Congress Revises Federal Food Crime Equivilency Ratings”.
Lately The Onion has been wildly uneven, imho. Every few weeks they put out an edition that totally kicks ass, all the rest are just filler, if they don’t completely suck.
