Tomorrow’s our state primary election. I’m not registered with either party, but tend to vote Democratic - especially in this cycle when the Republicans have all been fighting over who is the most conservative, religious, anti-tax, anti-Obama candidate.
But looking at tomorrow’s Democratic ballot, there doesn’t seem to be much point. The (D) candidate for governor is unopposed. The (D) candidate for US Congress is not unopposed but a safe incumbent (safe until November, anyway). The candidate for State Congress is unopposed. There is a race for the State Senate nomination but I don’t know any of the candidates. And it’s not like the state-level Democrats have a snowball’s chance of winning in this district, anyway.
All the sexy races are on the GOP side. Not that I support anyone on that ballot, but there are candidates I can’t stand who I would have the pleasure of voting against. My only real decision there would be the governer’s race, where all the Republicans have ticked me off. I could, however, vote for the infamous Basil Marceaux.com which would be kind of fun.
Should I do it? Or should I take the high road and actually vote for candidates I’d like to see win in September?
