states for the candidates

I think D.C. was the “state” with the Most Kerry supporters.
Which state had the most Bush supporters by percentage.
And why, exactly?

Also why does D.C. support Kerry so very much also?

DC is the highest level of democratic support of any electoral district. It has that east coast city democratic thing going and no surrounding suburbs to balance it.

There is, effectively, no Republican organization. There are some Republican politicians in city politics but they’re pretty marginalized. So when the Presidential election pops up it’s a slam dunk 3 electoral votes for the democratic candidate without fail.

This is also the reason DC statehood is a tug of war. DC statehood guarantees a Democratic governor, a Democratic Representative and two Democratic Senators. Curiously, the Democrats consider this a GOOD thing while their colleagues on the other side of the aisle are somewhat less sanguine about it.

DC always votes overwhelmingly Democratic. There are few Republicans who live in the District.

I believe Utah had the biggest Bush majority at 71%. Wyoming was at 69%. Nebraska was at 67%
