My teacher has issues. We just learned how to make frequency tables and I’m probably missing something vital but I’m trying to do my homework online and I’ve run into a question that I have no idea how to solve. What’s making it difficult is the class boundaries are given, but I don’t know if they just pulled numbers out of their ass to use. (If you don’t know statistics you won’t understand this.) So here’s something like how the question goes. It gives you a list, in order, numbers that are smaller that represents employees salary. It then asks me to make a frequency table using the class boundaries: 23.5, 69.5, 115.5, 161.5, 207.5, 253.5. Then it has a small table below asking me to list only the class boundaries and the frequency. The thing that is stumping me is I tried to make an entire table to fill in the boundaries but my frequency table doesn’t match the given class boundaries. What’s really throwing this of is the fact the lowest salary is 24 and the highest is 250. But it jumps from 68 to 250. I tried filling the table horizontally like: 23.5-69.5, 115.5-161.5 but that doesn’t work. With the frequency the first numbers 23.5-69.5 encompasses the entire number table except one number (There are five slots). Even when making the table on my own the numbers were 23.5-80.5 and I’ve run into the same problem with the first class boundary encompassing the entire table. My professor hasn’t taught me how to do a frequency table with given bullshit class boundaries. Anyone know what to do? Thanks
