Staying up all night.

Garr…

The Dread Pirate Gabe not be likin’ this insomnia shit. Especially when he be havin’ class at 8-o-clock in the mornin’.

I slept in until about 11 this morning, so I am unable to fall asleep tonight.

I went to bed around 12. I was unable to even approach sleep. It is now just before two. I was debating whether or not to stay up all night, in order not to miss class in the morning. About 5 minutes after I committed myself to this, I am becoming sleepy.

I know that there is no way I will be able to go to sleep soon and wake up in 4 hours to get ready for class.

sob

Fellow insomniacs: Help me fall asleep and get to class!

Somehow I managed to fall asleep around 3, and just woke up at 7, so I will make it to class…

In case anyone cared…

crickets

Damn, looks like I was too late with a link to [War and Peace.]](http://www.gutenberg.org/dirs/etext01/wrnpc11.txt)

prepares coffee for the nonce

I’ve already read it.
and Anna Karenina
and Crime and Punishment
although not last night.

+Get moving dude, according to the SDMB clock you will be late for class.

My campus has wireless access in every classroom. 'Nuff said.

Here you go

Mongolia travelogue - June/July 2005

Now sleeeepp…sleeeppp

Oh crap you’re in class!! Wake up! Wake Up!!

Dude, that’s not insomnia: you were just frustrated because you wanted to go to sleep, but your body was still rested. You fell asleep after having been awake for 16 hours, which sounds about average to me.

I haven’t stayed up ALL night (except when working nights in the field) for a long, long time. My personal record is 37 hours awake. I know that’s not a big accomplishment, but it’s a record I hope I never have to break.

Insomnia rookie. :stuck_out_tongue:

When you want to talk insomnia, come see me tomorrow… at… noonish. Or something. It’s 10:46am here… I haven’t slept since… well… I’ve seen two sunrises, at least, and one sunset… so that would be…

sneaks up behind Anastasaeon, pounces with a pillow and blanket, rolls him up and dumps into nearest bed

My work here is done.

Anastasaeon = Anastasia :stuck_out_tongue:

[SUB]Why do people keep thinking I’m a dude? Dude![/SUB]

Your name… um… ends in a ‘n’?

Please don’t kill me. :frowning:

raises axe

Ah, fuggedaboudit. If I killed you, all the other people who have called me a dude would want to get slayed, too, and I just don’t have that kind of time. You may pass. But I keep the pillow, blanket, and bed.

Next time, concentrate really intensely on finishing a dream you had at some point that you enjoyed. Knocks me out in minutes, which kind of sucks because I really do want to finish this one.

For the future, please tune your TV to “The Vanessa Williams Sells Zit Cream Late At Night, Every Night Show”… or the “Be an Internet Millionaire Show” or any of the “Call In The Next 10 Minutes Shows”. You will be asleep in minutes.

…or try some Store Brand (our Jali always saving money) Tylenol P.M. (my pharmacist tells me that the sleeping agent is an antihistamine and non addictive)

Just admit it, Gabe, you just started this thread so google would do the searching for you.

I used to struggle with insomnia of the “went to sleep fine, slept four hours, and am now lying here staring at the ceiling” variety, but since I learned to meditate, my sleeping has improved dramatically. I don’t actually meditate any more, but learning to focus on my breathing has stayed with me, and is extremely effective at putting me back to sleep. It usually takes about three focused breaths, and I’m back out again.

I would, if the google ads were selling anything to cure insomnia. Right now all i see are cures for sleep apnea.

Strangely enough, several other people in my class this morning reported insomnia last night, and all managed to fall asleep around 3, same as me.

I blame The Government. However, we also must share some of the blame for forgetting to don our tinfoil caps before retiring for the night.
