Steak 'n Shake can felch my exhausted, hungry, drunk ass!

So I ran 21 miles today, marathon training. So i’m exhausted, and hungry. And I compound the error by doing a few screwdrivers. (Now I’m gonna get a severe alcohol/exhaustion headache tomorrow morning, no matter how much water i drink :()

Now I amble on down to Steak 'n Shake, hoping to alleviate the hunger pangs. Order a Classic Double platter with fries and chili. I just ran 21 miles, so I’m still hungry. I order a bowl of chili deluxe.

I AM STILL HUNGRY!

The food was good (on the other hand, could food possibly be bad in my state?) But DONT GO THERE IF YOU PLAN ON GETTING FULL!

Ah, so a restaurant is supposed to know how many calories you need to be full regardless of your activity level, is that it? Yeah, that makes sense.

i hate steak and shake. blech

That’s a weak ass rant; their Mushroom and Swiss burger rocks.

Kudos on getting so far with your marathon training dude. Last time I tried I gave up after about 6 weeks. Hope your head’s not too bad tomorrow

This is a prime example of why people shouldn’t post when they’re drunk.

I’ve always liked their burgers and shakes, but everything else they have, they seem to serve with a thimble…then again, I only eat there once every 3 or 4 years so what do I know…

Every time I’ve gone they’ve been awesomely slow. I have no idea what the deal is, but even if they are empty, they take 10 minutes (minimum) through the drive-through and 30 minutes inside!

They were amazingly fast, in my instance. Even though I ordered twice, I was in and out of there in less than an hour. (Drinking my food didnt hurt the time, of course.)

But I stand by the miniscule portions comment. The only sit-down place I’ve gone to that was worse was a restaurant on the far end of Bourbon Street, NO, where I ate 2 full burger and fries platters and was still hungry. Without being exhausted. (And it being the tourist district I paid like 17 for the privilege. At least my bill at s+s only came to 12 or so.)

We like to go there because it makes my husband feel classy to take his wife to a restaurant which has a measuring tape (for describing perps) on the doorframe.

I love Steak and Shake. Like you, Ludovic, I think its not much quantity for the money.

But man, them double cheeseburgers are the best.

S&S. They’re the ones with the cute waitress chick who says you should stop in for special occasions like “the moon is full”, “the kids behaved”, etc… I just love her bedroom eyes and that “my shift is over at 5, why don’t you join me a home cooked meal” look she has. I’m sorry, what were we talking about?

Bean crock.

Chicken fingers.

Mmmmmmmm… chicken fingers.

Best shakes around. The food is way overpriced, and the portions are very small, but I’ll eat there if it is late at night and we’ve all been out doing something fun. And you can’t go wrong with one of their strawberry or peach shakes.

Small portions in New Orleans? Wow, that must have been a really, really touristy place. Most of the time I have the opposite problem.

Mmm…crawfish…
