Stealing other posts threads.. Second attempt

Maybe this is too obvious, but perhaps the person who posted the message(s) here is the same one who posted it there? Or perhaps another person from the other board who is posting it here in an attempt to find out the correct answer to answer it over there? Or even to find the answer for him/herself, because know he/she is curious?

But you might say “It’s bad to not say you’re asking it to answer it on another board.” Why is that? It’s entirely possible that the SDMB will still end up credited for the answer, at least if the original questioner is smart enough to ask for a cite. And you have said “It’s bad to not say you saw the question elsewhere.” Why is that? I’m sure the poster was not aware he/she had to post the genesis of his/her desire to know the answer. Quite a few people will explain why they want to know, but I’m sure quite a few people are not aware that in order to get the answer to a question that they have to pass some kind of an “Original Questioner” test.

Duck: I’m not sure there’s much to do. It was an observation with a question. Simple as that.

I’m not out for a trophy or anything. I just thought people had comments on this trend. If you don’t? Fine. I’ll let it drop.

Kat: To be honest with you, I never thought of that. I can be humbled and admit it. But not this time. I honestly think there’s more behind this than that.

And, as people seem to completely ignore the O.P. and follow-up posts, I was asking, no, pissing, about the fact that stealing another boards thread as your own is wrong.

That was all people.

CnoteChris, yesterday I thought this topic was merely amusing. But now that I see your opinions on the Napster injunction, I find you hypocritical. Your righteousness is appalling. You think using thread topics from other message boards is wrong. However, you think you are entitled to free reproductions of the copyrighted works of musical artists. Please explain this dichotomy to me. I don’t understand it.

I see in another thread, you have called Bill H., smug, I find that term applies more accurately to you. You clearly have some conflicting values. Or are your principles just a thing of convenience?

Shit. People are going to think I’m UncleBeer’s sock.

No no no! Unclebeer.

I have so much shit floating around right now it’s hard to keep up. I see I won’t being doing that anytime soon.

I said I didn’t find it wrong to copy a song from someone else (Given that it isn’t constantly happening and the record industry andartist isn’t hurting from the reproduction.)

You and others argue Napster goes well beyond this. It may surprise you, but I actually agree with your points.

However, and let me be clear here: I took issue, and still do, with the judge’s rulling. It seems to have ramifications that go far beyond the Napster issue and into everyday life. Pretty scary if you ask me.

I got caught up in it and may have overstepped by bounds from time to time. But that was my main point (If you look closely at the early posts in that thread you’ll see how I started).

As per your request, and the T.O.S. of this board, once I was ripped on I politely said ‘see ya in the pit’. Started a new thread towards the person who took issue with me.

You read this the ather day and thought it was funny? Well, that was kinda the point. Roundabout humor with a bit of a point behind it.

Calling me a hypocrite is a bit of an overstatement on your part, don’t you think? Especially since I’ve explained my reasoning behind the difference?

I don’t think I made any overstatement. You argue against copy topic ideas and for copying the licensed works of musical artists. Seems simple to me. Your “distinctions,” to me, seem merely a sop to your own conscience.

Beer…

My conscious and I aren’t on speaking terms.

Your point has been taken, however.
