A lot of people say it’s like Mirror’s Edge. The selling mechanic is going in and modifying people’s memories, but that only happens like four times. The actual game is mostly following missions and beating up people with fancy moves, while in an urban, cyberpunk future.
The GOTY edition has a ton of DLC included, like the 2 additional classes and various expansions like Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep, and the like. It does not include all of the extra costumes, and a few other omissions that I’m forgetting.
Here we go, from the Wiki entry: “A “Game of the Year Edition” containing the main game, all four major DLC packs, the two character packs, and the first Ultimate Vault Hunter Pack was released on October 8, 2013.” So those DLC packs were Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty, Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage, Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt, Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep, plus the mechromancer and psycho classes, and the first Ultimate Vault Hunter Pack.
So as I understand it, you need to do the steps to “buy” L4D2, and when it gets to the install you can stop? Don’t need to install fully to keep it “forever”? Because I know some of the games listed under free drop off your list if you don’t install them, e.g. Alien Swarm.
You need to “buy” it, yeah. It’s not a free game like Alien Swarm or Spiral Knights. It’s a premium game which Steam is currently letting you purchase for zero dollars.
Yeah, it didn’t even go through the full purchase process, though. I just clicked “install now” and it added to my library. I stopped the install without starting it and it is now there…permanently.
I bought State of Decay while it was on sale, and so far I do not recommend it. It is a fun game, except for one small problem: the creators are absolute tossers. There are no difficulty settings, there is permadeath and there is no ability to return to an earlier save state. The character you like gets killed, and you have to start the whole game from the beginning - and no, you can’t skip dialog the second time through. Oh, and apparently resources are consumed in real time, as if this mechanic wasn’t a cancer on enough freemium “social” games without being shoved into a single player sandbox game that I might not want to play every single fucking day.
