Steam Winter Sale

Yep - flash sales work the same way. Once it expires it goes back up.

GreenMan Gaming has it for 75% off the Mac version, but it activates as both Mac and PC on Steam. (So I’m told anyway.)

Oh wow, I was going to buy it but was too lazy to go get my wallet. I figured I’d just buy it before the time was up and now its twice the price…

Nuuvem is a legitimate retailer. They’re technically not supposed to sell outside Latin America in the same sense that Amazon is technically not supposed to sell digital games outside the US. But provided that the same isn’t some Latin America region specific key, it’s fine. From what I understand, they even do a pretty good job of stopping you from buying keys you can’t use based on your IP.

Borderands 2 GOTY is also $14.99 on GetGamesGo.

It wasn’t off-sale yet though. B2 GOTY went on as one of the daily 24-hour deals for $15 and then increased back up to the holiday sale price within a couple hours.

Even their Facebook page originally had it noted as being 75% off, then changed it to 50% later. But that’s no daily deal at all, since it had been at 50% off since the start of the sale.

Didn’t realize Green Man had it, so I bought it via Get Games.

Yikes!

BTW - Trine 2 is a really good buy at $1.99 for the next 5 hours.

Just installed BL2 GOTY (and bought my husband a copy, that he’ll find after he wakes up  ), and upon closing out, the Steam app shows their “Update News” pop-up… with a graphic of the latest Daily Deals, still showing a “-75%” in the corner for the game. :smack:

Other than that I’ve been happy with the sale so far.

Remember Me is $10 at GMG with code GMG20-ZB5D1-93X49. That’s 20% off the 75% off sale so you’re likely not going to see it lower until the game itself has an MSRP drop.

Thank, I’ll quote what someone posted on the Steam forum for those interested.

Is that game like Zelda or Okami?

Yeah, I’d consider Nuveem a “buyer beware” sort of situation, not because they’re shady, but just because the site isn’t set up for US sales and you sort of need to be in the “201” Class of digital games buying to take advantage of them. You’ll want to know that the game activates on Steam and that it is a ROW (“Rest of World”) version rather than something region locked. Download speeds shouldn’t matter since you’re just activating a key and downloading from the Steam servers. While there’s a few games in Portuguese, from what I understand it’s usually not a factor since European and Brazilian Portuguese are different enough to piss off one group or the other to make translation not worth the expense so most games are just in English which keeps everyone relatively happy. A ROW game should be in English anyway, with or without additional language options.

Buying games that activate on other services (Origin, Uplay, etc) should be similar but I’ve never tried it.

If you download an app from the Amazon app store today (free or paid) you get a $5 app store credit good on purchasing apps or in-app purchases. In-app purchases obviously have to be through an app you own on Amazon.

Credit expires March 31, 2014.

I’m seeing the discounts that SenorBeef reports. (American, here.)

The discounts take a while to register properly. PacifistPorcupine looked at them before they changed from base discount to special discount. Happens every time for a few minutes, basically.

Any one played Monaco? Any good?

My understanding is that it’s good/OK for single player, better with friends.

System Shock 2 is on a flash sale. I played it about 5 years ago. Held up very well for a game from 1999. It was also the creepiest game I ever played. Seeing how I don’t play many horror games, I don’t have a lot to compare it to. It was much better than most “classics” I’ve seen recommended all over the place.

It’s Bioshock with actual RPG elements. But if you get this one, you can look out for the graphics and texture packs to make it look slightly more modern, without changing it completely.

now includes

Hero Academy alone is worth at least $6. it is the gold pack so it includes all six factions and some bonus stuff. the game is on various platforms including Steam, but if you want to try it first, you can get one of the factions for free on ios. it’s asynchronous, so it’s a different sort of game. give it at least 10 minutes and make at least 10 concurrent games for it to draw you in. the amount of time i’ve sink into this is ludicrous, just one more turn right?
