Yes, I was there, in the cold, bundled up, cheering on the home team as we battled against the Raiders for superiority in a veritable bath of testosterone.
Despite the best efforts of both Oakland and the referees, Kordell, Bettis, Hines and Bruener managed to lead the team to a squeaky-clean 21-20 victory over the team with the best record in the AFC.
Also, despite the best efforts of the loud, obnoxious drunk in the seat behind me, I managed to keep my sanity through the whole ordeal. You think I’d be used to it after all the games I’ve gone to.
And there it is, the second to last Steelers game ever to be played in Three Rivers Stadium. <sniff> It’s done good, and I’m pissed to no end that I’m gonna miss the last one. Stupid play rehersal…
Anyway, just wanted to post my happy feelings, and declare two things. One, that the Steelers still have a shot at the playoffs, and two, that the Oakland Raiders can kindly go to Hell. Line forms to the left, right behind the Browns.
I go to a Steeler booster bar here in Atlanta. Yes, being in 3RS would have been sweet, but being in a bar with 200 other Steeler fans isn’t all bad either.
Jester, we still have a shot at the playoffs, but I’m gonna wait until after the Giants game next week before I start getting any hopes up.
Kordell looked good today (not often I get to say that!), and thats two games in a row he’s looked really good – I’m not sure if I have EVER gotten to say that!
