Stefano Domenicali, you are an asshole.

Ok, I know I may be one of the only F1 addicts on this site, but this pissed me off enough for a pitting. Stefano Domenicali is the director of Ferrari’s F1 team. He has a prima donna driver, Fernando Alonso. He has another driver, Felipe Massa who is not as egregious of a prick as Alonso. So, in the Austin race Alonso qualified in 7th place on the grid, and apparently he wasn’t happy about this, so he whined and bitched. What does Domenicali do? Does he tell his butthurt little prima donna to suck it up and be a man? Nope, he has the tech crew sabotage Massa’s transmission so that Massa starts at the back of the pack and Alonso moves up a slot. While this is not a technical violation of the rules, it is unethical and fuckery most heinous. If Alonso wanted to start closer to the front then he should have driven better. It’s not like Alonso really stands a chance of winning the driver’s cup, and Red Bull/Renault has the constructor’s cup all tied up already. What the fuck did this bullshit accomplish except assuaging the ego of a guy who thinks that since he has won two driver’s championships in F1, the world should kiss his ass. Someone needs to smack the arrogant little spaniard around and ask him what he has won since 2006. After that, someone needs to smack Stefano Domenicali upside the head for his unethical fuckery. Fuckery most foul and most heinous.

Not that I agree with Ferrari’s tactics this weekend, but they didn’t do it solely to move Fernando up one slot on the grid. They did it to move both drivers to the clean side of the track. Every driver in a left side grid position was moaning that that side was dirty and they were at a disadvantage on the start.

In the end it was only vaguely successful; Fernando finished third behind Hamiton and Vettel and Massa finished 4th. He would never have been allowed to finish ahead of Ferdy anyway regardless of the BS tactic at the beginning.

I otherwise approve this pitting.

I too endorse this pitting.

There are a couple of issues with it though; to describe Massa as not as egregious a prick as Alonso is mild. Massa is a talented driver who has sold out entirely. When told he was going to be butt-fucked in order to help Alonso move sides of the grid, his only question would have been, “How far over would you like me to bend?”. The “man” is a disgrace. I’d also question the FIA’s stance. I know that there was no official breaking of the rules, but surely the FIA can do something about such a flagrant breach of the spirit of the rules?

Finally, although a bit off-topic, can I add Jensen Button to the list of twats? We get to listen to the live radio broadcasts of the drivers. Despite being paid millions of pounds (plus all the lingerie models he can eat) for driving a car, all we hear from Jensen is whining about how difficult it is; “My car’s really slow”", “It’s raining as bit, it’s really dangerous” etc…etc…Shut the fuck up, you whining prick!

kbear: thank you for adding in the rest that I thought might go over people’s heads.

Bilbo: by all means add Jensen in. I have the same opinion as you.

You’re both European aren’t you?

British here, yes.

Transplanted Canadian.

Hubby and I argue over this all the time. I think it was unsportsmanlike of Ferrari to game the regulations the way they do, from team orders, to Schumacher shunting drivers off the track on a regular basis, to the stunt they pulled yesterday. He thinks “win at all costs”.

I agree kbear. If Ferrari were actually ethical in their racing, they would have a lot fewer victories.

Remember the “not really team orders” team orders from a couple years ago:

Ferrari are the first to cry foul if another team tries something that pushes the boundaries of the rules but then come over all persecuted when they get called on their shenanigans.

Are you sure you don’t mean this Stefano D.?

There was much gnashing of teeth from the wife over the weekend partly because of this. She hates the guy with a passion, cheers every time something happens to his car and curses whenever he manages to move up a spot.

Every time I hear some grunt of disgust while she watches I only need to ask: “What did Alonso do now?”
