Since there seem to be a lot of Funkateers in this thread, can I suggest you catch the latest incarnation of P-Funk? It’s close, but very different from what we’ve had for the past ten to fifteen years. Of course no Belita or Shider (holy cow, it’s been five years since Shider passed), but Kendra, Kim and a few other voices have gotten off the mothership. Sativa still does her ‘Somthin’ Stank’, and his grandson has gone from one- or two-off songs to a larger role. Plus, there’s a eleven or twelve year old kid who knocks Maggot Brain out of the park. PLus, they’ve got a new album out that’s pretty good.
