Yet again, Unionist propagandists use colonialist stereotypes of Scots as irrational and selfish as a way to try to discredit the SNP in the lead up to the election. But, as this thread shows, it’ll backfire on them and just increase support for Scottish independence. So I’m pitting narrowminded Unionists who don’t ever take a look at the bigger picture or the context of events, but instead just push their narrative regardless.
The Irish gave the Scots the bagpipe a thousand years ago. And the Scots never caught on.
We have a piper down!
The mere act of posting this should be enough to finally get Quebec to secede.
of course it is only with a great reluctance you point this out.

Can we start a separate forum for Pjen to breathlessly announce the widening cracks in the fabric of union? We could call it The Bairn House or something.
The long-term wide-ranging 2010 UK General Election thread was pretty good, as these things go. Lively at points - I picked up a warning I think - but informative and good natured for the most part. The UK posters and interested others are a good bunch, in my experience.
UK politics threads over the past year or two, however, they’ve been rather dominated by one poster. Malden had a valiant attempt at issue based GE2015 topics to get a non-independence discussion going, but the UK (plus interested) poster base seemingly isn’t big enough to sustain that. Ah well. Thanks Pjen, you’ve bored everyone into submission!
Too bad there isn’t a rule against starting thread after thread about the same subject…
Things should get interesting shortly with the release of the manifestos.
Um…correct me if I’ve missed something, but has Pjen managed to hijack this thread without actually even posting in it??!
Yes you did
The problem with this thread, versus those of Pjen, is that I figured out what Captain Amazing was talking about right away. No spittle-flecked, contextless dropping of names of people I’ve never heard of, though I’m fairly well-read. OTOH, I know who Scrooge McDuck is.
I simply don’t read a thread that Pjen starts, and if she shows up in a thread, à la Cthulu, I tend to drop that thread from the threads I check.
Once she shows up, there’s simply no point reading or trying to participate.
On re-reading that post, I think I made a mistake in comparing her to Cthulu. She’s not nearly as powerful or terrifying for the analogy to work.
She’s more like an uninformed banshee, keening and wailing, but outside the wrong house and the wrong day.
Yes, the Emily Litella of banshees. That’s more accurate n
I thought Pjen was a guy!
I’m also lost. I have no idea what the op is about nor why the thread suddenly turned into pjen-bashing.
There’s nothing sudden about it. This thread has always been about Pjen, thus the linking of a Pjen thread in the OP.
Not sure if you’re just being sarcastic, but just in case, the OP is about pjen – she’s basically a one-trick pony who posts about nothing but Scottish independence.
Well, and the occassional thread about how much America sucks, and how Europe is such a paradise in comparison.
Nope, not being sarcastic at all. If you haven’t read that thread then it’s really not obvious how the op is supposed to be a joke or parody or whatever it actually is supposed to be. I am English and have participated in a couple of threads about the referendum but had no idea that all of UK politics in this board is now apparently dominated by one person.
It’s not. Only the bad parts are.
