Stephen Fry's comments on the RCC

I did a Google search on this, and was surprised to not find anything - though this clip may have recently been posted as a result of Ratzinger’s visit to England. If it’s been brought up, could someone link to the relevant thread and ignore this? (Also, this is not intended as a Great Debate - if it gets moved, I’m bowing out.)

Stephen Fry presents at an “Intelligence Squared” conference (I’m unfamiliar with the organization). The panel seems to consist of an RCC cardinal, who, impressively, takes Fry’s comments in relative calmness. As a former Catholic, his comments ring extremely true to me.

I stumbled upon this a while back, so it might have been from here.

I basically like his first parts, but it starts getting bad towards the end. I’d explain why, but I’m feeling so sick right now, I don’t think I can take the time. But, basically, he starts missing stuff, and, towards the end, totally misses the point of Catholicism and Christianity in general.

Still, the point that the Church should make monetary retribution for its sins is good. Just don’t try to include not accepting other religions as one of those sins.
