Steve Bannon - odds he will show up on Monday for his trial?

Bannon loses last-ditch appeal, has to go to prison and (worst of all!) shave and bathe:

Hey, isn’t there something in the Bill of Rights about “cruel and unusual punishment”?

Seriously, it seems a sound decision. Essentially, “This is what happens to everybody else; no exceptions will be made for you, Mr. Bannon.”

RE: INCARCERATION OF STEVE BANNON

Dear Judge Merchan:

You getting all of this??

Kind regards,

And he’s filed an application to the Supreme Court for a stay pending application to appeal.

I cannot keep track of all the Trumpist appeals and court cases, and yet more appeals, hearings, motions, and still more appeals.

Does Bannon have any standing before the SCOTUS? Is there a constitutional issue to be argued?

Asking because I really don’t know.

Apparently so, since Peter Navarro tried the same trick with SCOTUS based on the same “executive privilege” argument. Chief Justice John Roberts denied the request and off to prison he went.

Update:

Good. Haul him away! Probably need a fire hose to clean him up for him to put on his prison duds.

Why do I think there is a greater than zero chance Bannon goes on the run?

Just a WAG but I’m guessing he can’t run very fast.

Okay, that was good for a real laugh out loud.

He may not run very fast, but he can shed jackets and polo shirts, tossing them in different directions to confound his pursuers.

Or run into a homeless encampment where he can blend in.

We’ll see what happens on Monday I suppose.

The chance is above zero, but not much above zero. A four month sentence isn’t a nice experience, but spending a lifetime on the run is probably a lot worse. Richard Kimble he ain’t.

I hope they don’t have to resort to bloodhounds. Because that’d be animal cruelty.

“We sniffed him out and tracked him down by scent.”

“You called out the dogs?”

“No, it wasn’t necessary.”

Damn judges have no respect for crud!

(…with apologies to Hawkeye Pierce.)

“It’s a madhouse! A madhouse!!

He turned up at his new digs around noon today.

He still plans on being able to speak on his “show” for small bits at a time.

He said he was proud of what he did, and, quote, “I don’t mind going to prison today”. So how come all the expensive appeals, Steve, all the way to the Supreme Court? Surely there must be something about spending four months in the hoosegow that doesn’t appeal to you?
