Steve Martin Short

Rolling Stone liked it, but the review has spoilers, so you have been warned.

Just watched it. That’s the funniest I’ve seen Martin Short in a long time. Highly recommended.

It’s a relief to know I’m not the only one. It is worthwhile though, to turn it on and fast forward until you see the two of them sitting in chairs. The stories are really worth hearing.

A little Martin Short is good. A lot of Martin Short isn’t. And any Glick is freakin’ awful.

So the Steve Martin stuff was what stood out for me. Liked esp. the picture bits.

Usually two shows are filmed and the best of each are spliced together. There are a lot of goofs kept in which makes me wonder if they was just one show. Did they play just one show at this venue?

Again and again I see this among successful people: Steve Martin by age 15 was performing at The Magic Shop at Disneyland. Short was up in his attic bedroom obsessively singing along with records. People like this don’t wake up the day after college graduation and say “Now what?”.

Many of y’all are prolly unaware of the fact that these guys spent the better part of the past 5 years charging corporate clients as much as $800k for a “performance” that was really them rehearsing and trying our material as they put the show together that y’all are currently talking about. I know because I saw them 4 times during that span. I’m a huge Steve Martin fan and I thought their show was pathetic; the bolded sentence is IMO an accurate assessment.
