Stick a fork in her: Clinton's done

And CNN is calling it a “dead heat” now.

GMA reported Obama ahead by 5 this morning in WI and a shoe in for HI. They also reported Texas as Obama with a "slight lead" - Clinton is not liking thos stats, but we’ll see what happens.

ON a different note - GMA has MA governor on this morning to react to the Clinton Camp’s claim that Obama plagiarased his words…HOWEVER - I guess the GMA producers did not know that **Deval Patrick ** and **Barack Obama ** were old friends. So when Diane Sawyer asked Gov. Patrick about it he laughed a little and said, "*Diane if this campaign has come down to this then Senator Clinton is in a worse position than she is saying. He used two words of mine, and I am OVERJOYED that he used them. His campaign is full of inspiration and is getting people to the polls for change. He has used words from FDR, JFK, Martin Luther King and others to illustrate his stance on change. He is a great man who I am honored as having used my words. *
The look on Diane Sawyer’s face was  She is an obvious Clinton Supporter…The best part about the whole thing is Gov. Patrick continued and gave Barack a HUGE thumbs up, and further called for people to finalize this race in his favor!

I nearly spilled my tea I was laughing so hard! This is Great News for the Obama Campaign.

From the YouTube clip, Gov. Patrick’s description is completely accurate. The extent of plagiarism, if that it be, was the two-word phrase, “Just words.”

What really happened is that Obama lifted a device from Patrick. Both were accused, as Patrick put it, that “All I have to offer is words. Just words.” He then *quotes Jefferson, MLK, FDR, etc., interspersing “Just words.”

Obama, in a similar situation, said, “Don’t tell me words don’t matter,” and used the same device: quoting Jefferson, King, etc. with “Just words” in between.

Quoting the same words by the same people to prove the same point isn’t plagiarism. The lead-in was different. All the ‘plagiarism’ bit comes down to is the two words, “Just words,” and the speechifying device - alternating the quotes with “just words.”

That isn’t plagiarism, any more than Obama’s use of “Turn the page” is plagiarizing off Bob Seger.

Awesome song.

If Hillary and Barack are polling even… he’s going to win fairly big, as his support is in the metropolitan areas, which get more delegates, thanks to the slightly odd Texas method.

I was hoping for a close tie when he was down 10%, thanks to this factor.

The funny thing about “wordsgate” is that I had not heard it before all the brewhaha and I actually took away the point Obama was making, words can inspire, and could care less about the “plagarism”. Thanks for pointing it out, Sen. Clinton.

I have to wonder if the Obama camp set this up. The bait was just way too perfect to dangle in front of the Hillary negative press hounds.

It seems like everyone but Hillary knows that she loses big when her nasty side is on display, and I think that going this negative is only going to do her in come March.

I agree, and especially watching Diane Sawyer this morning with her whole  moment was priceless. She was baiting Gov. Patrick and he caught her red handed and countered perfectly! It was priceless!
This backfired like a chimmichanga on the Hillary Camp.

When I was watching the news last night (probably NBC, but I’m not certain), it was noted that Hillary lifted some of Bill’s words in a recent speech. She should know better than to make a big deal about this, but it appears that desperation is clouding her judgement big time.

The Clinton camp now says they will go after Obama’s pledged delegates. Pledged delegates are allowed, under the rules, to vote for someone other than the candidate they were elected for. I suppose she could pick off a few with promises of ambassadorship, etc., but how many Obama delegates–selected for their loyalty–are really gonna switch sides? Seems to me that the tactic is likely to backfire.

I couldn’t agree more. One of the main reasons Hillary turns people off is her (and her husband’s) use of strong arm tactics. Twisting someone’s arm even more is not the way to go. And trying to get delegates to vote against the wishes of the people who selected them is just beyond the pale.

One of the big reasons why I stopped supporting Hillary a while ago is stuff like this. We don’t need another president who tries to divide and conquer; we need one who builds consensus and inspires people.

Do you have a cite? That’s totally ridiculous, though expected I suppose.

Thanks!

These people so thoroughly disgust me I’m shaking right now.

Hillary Clinton does not give a crap about America, its citizens, our future, nothing. All Hillary Clinton cares about is Hillary Clinton and getting what she wants. I’ve been saying all along that, in my opinion, she’s exactly like George W Bush but on the Dem side. And this just proves it all the more. She’d a goddamn petulant child.

If she has to go to court to take this election, if she has to reverse the will of the voters by coercing their pledged delegates, if she has to break rules she agreed to from the start, she doesn’t care. She doesn’t care if it hurts the party. She doesn’t care if it hurts the nation. She doesn’t care if, by extension, it hurts the world.

I am NOT kidding when I say I will organize marches on Washington if this woman pulls any crap to take this nomination.

She’s really grasping at straws, and I’m sure is pissed that some of her pledged delegates have gone to his side. Or at least one from recent memory. It’s going to backfire, like I said last week, she’s in the midst of dealth throws and when an animal is hurt, they are the most dangerous.

Oh and upon edit, I’ll march with SHAYNA!

She’s Tracy Flick.

It’s kind of nice that the vagaries of the nomination process are being cast into the light by, gasp, a tight primary race. Hopefully we’ll end up with a system that makes a little more sense following this insanity.

I’m not inclined yet to worry about shenanigans overturning the popular result- politicans are wishy-washy but they tend to have a good sense of how the wind is blowing. If there is a clear lead for one cadidate, everyone will fall in line. If it is close, then there is really no right decision and there would be a row either way. Either way, there’s a ways to go here.

It’s just unbelievable to see how much the Clintons have changed in eight years.
