She’s going to shoot herself in the ass, because she’s already blown off both feet. Its ova!
What can they sling that will stick? Seriously, his rating are going UP, hers are going DOWN. That is not an easy thing to completely turn around…if it’s even possible at all.
Two more wins for Obama! Wisconsin and Hawaii. Ironically, Obama reminds me of Bill Clinton in 1992. Message of hope and change. Highly skillful campaign. Strong sense that here is the better candidate. Just goes to show that Hillary ain’t Bill.
I’m firmly in the Obama camp now.
Neither has the bitch, which is why playing the “experience” card could bite her in the ass. Obama’s actually had considerably more legislative experience than her if you count his Illinois legislature days.
People are (seemingly, at least) turning away from Clinton because of her negative campaigning, so her solution is to go more negative? She ran an excellent campaign back in the fall, but it seems she and her staffers have just lost it at this point. It’s going to be real interesting to see how Texas and Ohio play out. Real interesting.
Another turnoff for me is Hillary’s arrogance. She seems to have believed the nomination would be handed to her as her God-given due and she wouldn’t have to work for it. She’s having a rude awakening now.
True dat, John Mace and Siam Siam. I began this campaign season willing to go with the Dems’ choice whoever it turned out to be, given the need (as I see it) to take the Republicans out of control until they regain their sanity. By now, though, I would find it terribly difficult to vote for Hillary, and it’s all her (and her campaign’s) doing.
Two things worth noting: No matter what happens now, Obama will have won a plurality of states; and even if you count the MI *and *FL delegates, right now Obama would still be ahead by 25-35 pledged delegates.
Yes, I certainly get that impression, too. But we should keep in mind that that was the conventional wisdom going back a few years now-- that the Democratic nomination was hers for the taking, and all she had to do was want it to get it.
Well, I’ve been cautiously optimistic up to this point, but after seeing Obama’s commanding lead in Wisconsin, I can’t see how he could possibly lose this thing.
I think Obama will win Texas. I think he’ll battle Ohio to within single digits. I’d be surprised if these things didn’t happen, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he won won huge in Texas and actually won Ohio. After that, he’ll slaughter in Pennsylvania, and Clinton, if she doesn’t concede, will be reduced to a nuisance rather than a threat to the Obama campaign, as Huckabee currently is to McCain.
Of course, it’s not just that Obama is so good. Clinton has been botching her campaign since before South Carolina. She started running this race as a 100 meter dash, with her ahead 20 meters. Obama’s running a 5K, if not a marathon, and Clinton’s having a tough time adjusting.
Look at what happened last night. Clinton jumped ahead of the previously scheduled start of Obama’s speech and pretty much dared the networks to cut her off. Hmm… Cut to the winner, who is the more telegenic speaker, or stay with the loser who once again refuses to mention the night’s contests and just goes straight into her stump speech. Not a hard choice. They all dumped her. That was just a stupid, stupid move on her part.
Her current tactic against Obama seems to be “he’s such a great speaker that he can’t possibly have any substance”. Which is again a dumb move. First, he already has and will continue to demonstrate substantive plans for America on his website and in his debate performances. Secondly, if it came to it, I’m sure he’s capable of replacing some (more) of his high-faluting rhetoric with policy discussion. Thirdly, you don’t continually point out that the other guy is more inspiring than you! I think there’s a sizeable chunk of voters that honestly don’t give a damn about specific policies (at least, not in the relatively small differences between Clinton and Obama) who want to vote for Obama specifically because they want someone to unite and moralize the country. And Clinton is pretty much telling them to vote for Obama!
It’s just sloppy.
Things are looking dire, for Hill:
That’s a big chance in the numbers.
From Clinton’s delegate website: “FACT: Florida and Michigan should count, both in the interest of fundamental fairness and honoring the spirit of the Democrats’ 50-state strategy.”
I found that amusing. I mean, aside from it being a poor argument, does her team really not know the difference between a fact and an opinion?
I’m still holding out some hope, but it is fading rapidly. I have wanted to vote HRC for president for a number of years. I’ve thought for a long time that she would be an excellent POTUS. It really is a shame the way things are heading.
Question: does 4,049 delegate number include Florida and Michigan? If not and they decided to include them wouldn’t that up the number needed to win the nomination?
With FL and MI you’d need 2,208, instead of 2,025.
Out of curiosity what do you think of her seriously negative campaigning, and the new 527 set up to benefit her and slam Obama. I’m not being Snarky, I’d like to know what level headed Clinton supporters think…
I don’t want to give the impression that I dislike Hillary. I think that despite her flaws, she’s a fine lady. It’s just that next to Obama, her flaws seem so magnified.
The only comment I’ve seen on the 527 from Clinton’s campaign is that they didn’t know about it and no comment from HRC herself. If those in power try to help her, I see no issue with that as it looks to be a legal strategy.
I do believe there have been missteps in her campaign. The main problem is that Obama’s popularity and surge in the primaries was pretty unexpected so the HRC campaign was setup to go to super tuesday and be done. She has chosen some oddly minor issues to raise against her opponent, I do think that was a mistake.
OK, which one of youse is posting at the Washington Post’s E.J. Dionne’s discussion “Is Clinton Done?”. The third post in is titled “Put a fork in Hillary…she’s done”.

FTR, while I’m a proud supporter of Obama, I’m not so proud of how some folks have bashed Hillary Clinton, sometimes parroting the right-wing haters’ lines about the Clintons. I really don’t think anything good can come of that.
Besides, Obama is now unquestionably the front runner, and he is looking pretty comfortable in that role; hopefully, his followers can begin to display something approaching that sort of grace.
I agree that some of the verbal abuse of Clinton is unseemly. I’ve been very critical of her campaign strategy (if you want to call it that), which I think she deserves, but the line is crossed when people call her names and so forth.
Thank you. It’s that kind of response that is missing from many of those hate blogs at ABC. It’s sort of sad, I am a staunch Obama supporter, but I don’t sling hate at HRC or her supporters. I may not agree with their tactics or hers for that matter, but the amount of hate seen on those blog postings is terribly disillusioning. Maybe I am too much an idealist, but seriously, I do not intend to go back to those blog sites, too much trash.
