And this was after she told a reporter in Fort Worth
“I think you’ll be able to imagine many things Senator McCain will be able to say,” she said. “He’s never been the president, but he will put forth his lifetime of experience. I will put forth my lifetime of experience. Senator Obama will put forth a speech he made in 2002.”
*from here .
Am I reading this wrong or did she just essentially endorse McCain if she doesn’t win the nomination?
She’s pissed that she’s going to get beat by a puny senator from illinois - I said it last week and I say it again, her campaign is in it’s death throes…
You’re definitely not. As The New Republic put it:
It’s one thing for Hillary Clinton to attack Barack Obama, the overwhelmingly likely Democratic nominee, in terms virtually identical to those used by John McCain, his presumed general-election opponent. It’s another thing for her to do this while explicitly praising McCain relative to Obama …
There are certain lines that you do not cross in a primary campaign. And one of those is suggesting that your primary opponent, the likely nominee, is so unfit that that the Republican nominee might be preferable to him. This is spoiler territory, and Clinton should be ashamed.
Here’s hoping today seals her fate.
