MrsRico handles the money so I suppose it’ll go straight into savings. We’re too old to blow it away.
We’ll get a small check. It won’t cover what we spent in groceries.
It will go into my bank account, as partial recompense against the runaway inflation that all this fiat money is likely to cause.
I’m going to put it in my savings account. $1200 is a handy sum to keep around for emergencies.
Pay off bills mostly. That, and splurge on a bottle of good single-barrel bourbon.
Use it for regular monthly expenses. I gave notice at my job in mid-February to take some time off to recover from my concussion a few months ago, and well, at the moment it’s looking like it may take longer than I thought to find another job once I am ready. We haven’t needed to dip into savings yet, but we will in the next few weeks.
Ivylad and I will split it. I will put some of it toward a dress from this site (Everything comes with pockets and you can customize neckline, sleeve and hem length!) and the rest into the bank and/or toward our HELOC…which is our only debt and we are paying it down like crazy.
Wow, what a fascinating site! I’ll have to spend some time looking over all the options. I’ve been trying to find a certain kind of wrap dress and they just might be the people to produce it.
So what if I’m only going to wear it around the house for my cats and dog. ![]()
Breadmaker!

Bed, Bath and Beyond, buy their “Rewards” card, or whatever they call it. It costs $29. After you have that, you get 20% off all purchases.
That means $65 savings on the breadmaker!![]()
Right now, I have my version of Orange Chicken in the crockpot, and a loaf of white bread in the breadmaker!

Most of it will be a donation to the local food pantry.
Straight into savings. I am lucky enough to have a job, but there is far too much uncertainty in the way this whole thing is going to play out for me to feel comfortable doing anything else with it. Not that one payment of $1200 is going to go that far for anyone, but every bit of cushion helps, I suppose.
You folks make me ashamed to post what I’m gonna do, so I’ll say…
Donate to a food bank. Yeah. That’ the ticket!
My splurge will be a Kindle Paperwhite with the backlight, so I can binge the new Dresden Files books this summer without killing my eyes. Might buy a used one on Ebay if I see one I like. . .I haven’t read a full book since my last one went missing when I was in the hospital.
I want to finish upgrading my computer, something I started 2 years ago. I need a new gfx card. The GRX 1660ti is on my mind, but I’ll have to see what prices are like when I go to buy - maybe I’ll step up if i get a good deal.
The rest goes into the bank for a rainier day.
Probably a new kindle; this one is dying.
We’re going to bank it. I’m sure they’ll want it all back, eventually. So, if we put it in the bank, it won’t hurt when we have to give it back, since we didn’t spend it.
Into our Vanguard Total Stock Fund. This downturn is an historic opportunity to add shares to our holdings in the Stock Market.
I’m one of the lucky ones. Getting nothing.
Sensing incoming cash, the washing machine is having fits and may die tonight of a paroxysm.
being sick of android I got a surprisingly nice laptop for only two bux. In two days it has annoyed me enough i’m back with my android convertible.
I’ll give ya 4 bux for it. Doubled your money! ![]()
