Stinky rubber smell

I bought a DeSantis pocket holster for my Glock 27. It’s a great holster and works well in the inside pocket of a suit coat. I have several pocket holsters of different makes for other pistols I own, but I like this one best.

Only problem is, it reeks of a strong rubber smell. The outside of the holster is rubber and has the texture of a tire. But man, it stinks!!

Anyone know of anything I can use to get rid of the stench? Petroleum based things are out, as they may damage the holster (and they can stink too).

If it’s washable in the washing machine try that. If not maybe some woolite and soak it in the sink? Sorry it stinks so bad. Hang it outside for a few days?? I’m outta idea’s. :stuck_out_tongue:

mild bleach should help as it will oxidise much of the surface smells. Unfortunately new odours will possibly slowly migrate out again
