I’m with most of the other posters here…stockings for those “special moments,” nylons for everything else. And I know what you mean, Eden, about the RCOD. That is a nightmare.
L’eggs makes an excellent nylon now, called Reliance. They do last longer, and don’t run as easily. They are also comfortable. I highly recommend them.
And WHY are maternity hose SO FREAKING EXPENSIVE??? I’ve been wearing queen-size regular hose, because those things are a fortune!
