How much time to do you think it takes to get a DNA sample? Swab a Q-tip on the inner cheek and you’re done. Or prick a finger and get drop of blood. And you don’t have to get the donor or clone to travel anywhere, I’m sure there are lots of people happy to go to them and take the samples.
The only possible reason they need time is to figure out a way to fool the test.

Actually, the more of this circus I see, the more convinced I am that the Raelians are right.
The entire human race was in fact genetically engineered and set in motion on Earth by a superior species from space. Once they had us set up and rolling, they then left.
What the Raelians don’t know is that these superior beings made us just smart enough to be able to create some fairly sophisticated technology, but not wise enough to really be able to manage it or ourselves, much less be a threat to our alien creators.
They did it for FUN, you see. The way you might create a neighborhood full of weird people in “The Sims”.
I imagine they’re getting their money’s worth, too…
Until we figure out how to get to their planet and enslave them.
