Besides the John Pershing pork story, which I still don’t 100% believe, here’s 2 more reliable examples:
In the 1980s Lebanese terrorists kidnapped a Soviet official. KGB agents found his brother, killed him, and castrated him. They sent his parts to the kidnappers. The hostage was immediately released. Terror attacks on the USSR when the commie ran the joint? Not too often.
Japan, a country where it’s people were willing to die for their Emporer. 2 nuclear bombs later, they surrender, and the Emporer is forced to renounce his divinity. The last I checked, there have been very few Japanese terror attacks on American soil.
I’m in favor of tactical nukes or using napalm on bin Laden. Will send a reeeeeal clear message. Trust me, these terrorist are cowards. If they realize that horrible, horrible things will happen to them and their families if they pull this shit, trust me, martyrdom for Allah will become a thing of the past REAL QUICK.

You are aware, I take it, that the USSR no longer exists. The expedient is not always wise. Pissing your pants makes you warm, but not for long. There is just a chance the best response in this situation is subtle, complicated and does not involve pork.
