Stopping the Chase Bank assholes

I’ve sent a half-dozen emails to these fuckers to have them stop with the bulk mailings for credit cards. If I ever would have considered getting a Chase credit card, someone would now have to put a blowtorch to my testicles before I would ever consider it. And even then - maybe. Do I have any options? Is there a consumer watchdog who can stop these morons?

I’d recommend calling them. I had to call one of their subdivisions to get them to stop sending solicitations for the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards credit card, which I was getting multiple times a week. (I was ready to cancel my frequent flyer account with Southwest Airlines to get them to stop.) I haven’t received a solicitation from them in months, but let’s see if they start up again after I next fly Southwest Airlines.

Also, take a look at the OptOutPrescreen website, which is supposed to help you opt out of prescreened credit offers from mailing lists provided by the major credit reporting agencies.

They are the worst, and I vowed to never get Chase based upon the mass mailings. AMEX is probably a close second. I later got an Amazon card, which is run by Chase. Their website is crap and unhelpful. Even though I now have a card with them, I still get mailings; I guess it won’t stop until I have every permutation of their cards.

I highly recommend doing this. I did it several years ago when I had no mailbox security and it has really cut down what I get. I think all I get these days are attempts to get me to sign up for a credit card linked to various airline (and Amtrak) frequent flier/rider programs. I’m sure there’s a way to opt out of those, too, but I haven’t looked, as the envelopes go straight to the shredder.

Save every one of the letters from them and send them an invoice for $100 for time spent processing unsolicited offers. When they don’t pay, sue them in small claims court.
