Bummer. There’s definite damage and a bit of water coming in. Storm damage 1, 2 and 3.
I’m okay, the dogs, cats and horses are okay and I’m well-insured. But still a pain in the ass.

Oh no! Were you in the house when it happened? Must have been scary.
Renee - No, I was at work. he dogs and horses were pretty freaked. The cats looked like they slept through it all.

Ouchie! Glad you and the animals are all ok. We had some really bad storms around here last night. Thunder, Lightning, 60 MPH winds and penny sized hail. The only “damage” in my neighborhood was loss of power for about 7 hours, but many areas nearby had significant tree damage.
Good insurance is a happy thing!
With a metal roof, repairs should be fairly easy.
A silver (steel or aluminum) lining?
Actually, I had a corrugated aluminum roof on, and the roofer found it was nailed in with 4" nails, and decided to put the new roof over it, separated by 2"x 1" strips. I was worried about the weight, but it’s very solid.
Here’s a pic of the damage inside, in the attic. The wood frame of the attic is all hand-hewn cedar.

The interior shot honestly doesn’t look too bad. I bet the repair won’t take long. Glad everyone is OK.
A charming house! Glad to hear it is a pain more than presenting bigger-deal issues.
We had a real nasty storm Tues. night. 60+ MPH winds.
I heard a tree come down.
Turns out it hit a neighbor’s house. Workers got it down yesterday but there’s damage to a wall, some of the roof, etc.
Neighbor is just getting by. Doesn’t need this.
I’ve had this happen to me twice. The first time, I was 11 YO. I was asleep when it happened. As I remember, I woke up and decided I wasn’t in danger, so I went back to sleep. Moments later, my brother woke me, nearly hysterical. It was a 24" diameter oak, maybe bigger. Poked a few holes in the roof, that’s all. It fell against a wall that was something like a 96-pane picture window, didn’t break any of the windows (although it did fall on one of it’s 8" to 10" diameter limbs, driving the limb a a foot or so into the ground, which probably saved the house). The workers broke half a dozen windows removing the tree.
The second time, I was 45. It was a old hickory tree, maybe 18" or so in diameter. Again, it was during the night. I never noticed it fall; I just woke up and found it as I was leaving to go to work. It just kind of leaned over against the house, so, other than an new roof, there really wasn’t any damage.
Roof update - Tree is now removed. Besides the breach in the roof, the ridge beam is broken and the chimney will need to be replaced. Much more damage than was visible while the tree was on there.

The first thing I thought when I saw your post, even before I saw your user name, was, “Oh, no! I hope it wasn’t the red house!”
I’m glad you & your animal friends are ok. Hope the repairs are painless as possible.
Crap. Sorry. Glad all are safe and that it is starting to warm up a bit, so the repairs can be done. Best of luck.
Just as an update, the roofers finally came out this week.
2 and a quarter inches of rain last night and not a drop to be seen! In the end, the roofers repaired the structural issues, since the carpenter never came. They finished at about 9:00 PM Thursday, cleaning up by flashlight. Chimney looks grand.

Forgot I posted this. The week after the above happened the neighbor between us had a tree fall on their house. Lots of damage.
Also a struggling family that doesn’t need a tree in their roof.
The repairs on first house are winding up. The 2nd house is still just tarp covered after the tree removal.
Houses here in Taiwan are brick and concrete so trees landing on them don’t cause this type of damage, but we have friends who have had cars destroyed by falling trees in typhoons.
Your pix #1 & #2 look like the tree tilted the house over. I hope it’s just the camera.
It wasn’t the camera, it was the photographer. Never blame the tools.
