This morning I woke up early (for me, anyway) at about six o’clock. No particular reason, except that I’m trying to shift my sleeping habits a bit. I put a pot of coffee on, had a bowl of cereal, and am sitting in the living room reading the dope. About fifteen minutes ago a storm hit; thunder, lightning, rain, wind, the works.
I think one of the greatest things in the world is spending an early morning with coffee and the Straightdope while listening to the fall (excuse me, late summer ) rain outside.
And, I don’t have to go to work until three this afternoon. Oh the possibilities!
No storms, just gray, chilly and breezy here. The thermometer in the tree outside my window says 52 degrees F, but my coffee is hot. This shot’s a few months old, but like you said, nothing like coffee and dope in the mornin’.
It was gloomy-gray this morning on my way to work, and I could hear the thunder and the rain hitting the roof about an hour ago. We’re supposed to have scattered showers and thunderstorms all day.
I was going to walk to work this morning (I live about six blocks away) until I saw the weather…
