So now that Civ III “Play the World” is finally out, when are some Dopes going to arrange a time to get together and invade, pillage, plunder and just generally backstab one another, hmmm?

I propose that we find a all-day Saturday where the most people can play, have the participants clear their schedules, and starting at, say, 9 am eastern time, we play for 12 hours straight.
Better than playing for an hour here, or two hours there.

I would but I can not express to you how absolutely horrible I am at Civilization. I have consistently sucked at every version starting from Civ I. I was bad at SMAC too. Anything above Warlord level brings to me severe and quick humility.
You kids have fun though. Can you save replays like Starcraft?

Alphagene, I also play at Warlord level. How about getting together for a cooperative game? I’d have to get the expansion first, of course. Just bought RCT2 so I’m can’t get anything else for a while.
I’m gonna have to get me a copy. I’ll also have to get back into Civ III, which I haven’t fired up for some months now.

It doesn’t work, folks.
The game allows Internet play only through Gamespy. It crashes repeatedly - this isn’t just my system, it’s everyone - and when it does work the lag is literally unplayable. Lag times of 20 seconds between user inputs are the norm.
They released a patch the day the game was released and it still doesn’t work. It’s not in a playable state. DO NOT BUY IT if you haven’t already.
My apologies if anyone bought it because I started the thread.
I’ll still buy it if only to get the extra tribes. The Celts sound like the most compatible for my usual strategy but I’ll also give the Vikings a try of course.
