since that that thing they did to the site the other week, it now takes ages and ages…well about 30-40 seconds to load up pages and threads!
No, do not blame my ISP (I connect through a LAN), no other page takes this long and SD never used to, but i am getting a bit fed up with sitting here like a moron waiting and waiting for each page to load!!! not gonna do it for much longer!!
Go to ATMB . Stop using bandwith with questions in the wrong forum.

Yojimbo: Allow me to phrase Piig’s response in the form of a question: WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS WEBSITE? Ever since the update last week, everything loads with glacial slowness. Half the time (for me at least), the threads never finish loading, ever after waiting a minute or more. And I have an ethernet connection; I shudder to think what people with modems are going through :eek:

Diceman I’m not being a smartarse but the answer ( well at least people talking about it )is over at ATMB . TubaDiva , Jerry Davis and Ed Zotti have all addressed it over several threads . I would give you links but the board’s to slow to do that kind off craic.

Yojimbo: i’m sure Manhattan will move this thread over to ATMB, especially if you take the time to specifically contact him to grass me up for being a nasty person that posts messages in the wrong forum! Perhaps someone could recommend a lawyer for me as i am sure the penalty for such wrongdoing is most distasteful.
On the other hand you have provided me with great entertainment this afternoon, so i hope you havent taken offence to what i have said, at the end of the day i guess you are probably right, its just i have always preferred the people in this forum, and frankly even if this is the wrong forum, it would only be yet another message of mine that gets moved somewhere else, so i really dont care.

30-40 seconds??? You’re lucky. I clicked on the link to this thread at exactly 1:01 Eastern Time and it finished loading around 1:06. I think they should un-upgrade the software.
OK, I read one of the problem treads in ATMB. Sorry about the patronizing comment, Yojimbo. I’ve been getting a little cranky because I’ve missing out on a lot of good threads this past week. One day, the SDMB is coming in fine, then suddenly I’m back in the old BBS days, when 14K connection speeds were blindingly fast 
I was posting from someone else’s machine. I had to leave and in the time that it took to except my first and only request, the machine’s owner came along and resent my reply again. I know it sounds like a likely story, but it’s true. I swear it. Vindication please. The Tamster is no jerk!

lunapark, I’m no trouble maker. Honest. I’m a victim of the system, incredibly SLOW system the Dope is running here. I hate it that I have embarassed myself and inconvienenced everyone involved. But you know, it’s all Piig’s fault for posting a complaint here anyway.
