Is there any information available as to the demographics of this site’s users?
There are a bunch of threads and polls on it. What are you looking for exactly? There are ones for age, geographical breakdown, educational status and lots of others. Most users are from the U.S. but there are lots of other countries and regions represented as well. Most people are somewhat well educated and the jobs that people have are pretty diverse although IT seems to be overrepresented a little. There are an awfully disproportionate number of game show winners on this board, Jeopardy in particular.
A disproportionate number are smartasses.
We have met the board and they are us.

I’m a smartass myself, and I feel like I have found my people. There’s more quasi-intelligent sarcasm and snark here than anywhere I’ve ever posted on a regular basis.
As a relative new comer it’s comforting to know that sarcasm is alive and well.
The polls and threads are meaningless in the same way that all self-selected data is meaningless. None of the threads is in the least bit a representative sampling. Lots of people have favorite forums they stay in and others they stay out of, so no reporting inside a forum can get at the whole.
There is no data that gets at Dopers overall. That’s as it should be on an anonymous board.
I also think a disproportionate number are science fiction fans, but that may be true of the internet as a whole. It sure seems that way when I look at tvtropes.

I’d say about 85%-90% of Dopers consider themselves “straight,” the rest gay, bi or asexual.
It’s not a big sample size, and as you said, it’s biased. But here ya go:

The question can’t really be answered because most of us have been assimilated into the CecilMind. We may appear to be individuals, but that’s just a façade to fool the unwary and entice more victims.
