Suppose the technology existed to swap music files, movies and televison shows (in your preferred format) from computers in an alternate timeline where Elvis never died; where Marvin Gaye never died; where Biggie Smalls ended his career on his terms; where Bill Hicks beat cancer and you could watch episodes of “Let’s Hunt And Kill Billy Ray Cyrus,” of which he was executive producer; where “Futurama” is still on TV.
Do books count? I never wanted to read the last Ellis Peter’s novel featuring Brother Cadfael, sad to think there would be no more.
And damn, it’s been over forty years, but why did H. Beam Piper have to shoot himself? That man wrote some of my favorite sci-fi and alternate history/parallel universe stories. I’d love to score a fourth Fuzzy novel.
I would also like to see what Beethoven is putting out these days, at the ripe old age of 250-something, or at least to see when the well went dry. Same goes for Bach, Mozart and Handel.
I’d be interested to hear some new Led Zeppelin. I’m hear they’ve put all that In Through the Out Door crap behind them and returned to their blues/rock roots. Apparently, Plant’s voice has made an amazing comeback.
I’m thinking I wont break the streak. The Beatles reunion album would be the first thing I grab. As well as keeping up with the adventures of Fry & Leela.
I’d be watching new episodes of Futurama too, and I’d um…er…still be watching Guiding Light ('cause Roger Thorpe kicked ass). I’d also be downloading Frank Zappa’s '98 sequel to Thing Fish (which of course is all about Bill, Hillary, Monica and Arabs)
I’d still be enjoying my lunches watching fun-filled episodes of Passions where Timmy never died.
And where the fourth Alien movie dealt with something other than the crappy cloning of Ripley and didn’t such ass.
I’d also like to see Raul Julia’s final performance in a great Academy Award winning drama instead of letting Street Fighter be his last starting role.
CAn’t forget my collection of all five seasons of The Family Guy, now, can we?
