Another straight guy who doesn’t care. There might have been a time in my life when I would have but now? Meh.
I haven’t done the communal shower thing in awhile but it certainly isn’t because I’m afraid of being a gay guy’s ogle-ee.
Makes absolutely no difference to me. I get more eyeball action in an onsen here just because I’m a gaijin than I would if I were in a communal shower. I’d probably have to go to a gay bathhouse to get a level of attention I’d feel uncomfortable with.
That fellow that I’m legally betrothed to says that he couldn’t care less and surely has in the past.

Nah I was younger and decide to dye my (head) hair blue. I had extra dye left over so I did my eyebrows, mustache, goatee, and pubes. I didn’t think anyone else would ever see the pubes but I went to a camping music festival which had a communal shower.
I really hate having to shower in front of other guys, period.
I get in and get out and keep myself focused on my goal of getting clean. The other men in the shower room are of no interest to me- and I don’t particularly care whether they are gay or not.
