I recall the time I almost landed one off Egmont Key-- must have been 12 or 14 points, easy. Seriously, the antlers were yea wide. I must have fought that sucker for a good 45 minutes. Drat the luck, he managed to wrap the line around the motor and got away. Of course they don’t grow that big out there anymore.
We’ve had local swimming deer recently. It was paddling around with the polar bears.

Deer frequently swim from shore to Angel Island in the San Francisco Bay. Looks like some bridge pylons in one of those pictures.
