My sister bought me some cough drops today.
Ginger Ale flavored .
They’re actually pretty good.
It probably helps that my absolute favorite soda is ginger ale.
What’s wrong with using ginger as a flavoring? I enjoy ginger mints, ginger candy, ginger beer, and so forth.
Nothing at all. I like ginger too. I just never thought of Ginger Ale cough drops. Canada Dry, no less.
Those Hall’s[sup]TM[/sup] cough drops with Canada Dry [sup]TM[/sup] ginger ale are good! I bought some just because I could not pass up the idea of ginger ale flavored cough drops. Nice, pleasant taste and they did the job too.
Canada Dry Ginger Ale Cough Drops? Okay, that’s a bit weird.
I wonder if Coca-Cola makes a flavored toothpaste?
We visited Bok Tower Gardens today and on the way back stopped here because it looked so darn cute and touristy. In one of the coolers was a bottle of this wine. I called my friend over and we asked for a sample. It didn’t taste bad at all…just a bit of a nice sting from the peppers. I didn’t want to spend $20 on a bottle of wine just then, but I will definitely keep it in mind the next time I’m in the area.
No, but according to an old poem, you can smoke Coca-Cola cigarettes and chew Wrigleys Spearmint beer.
“Doctors say that babies should smoke until they’re three,
And people over sixty-five should bathe in Lipton tea.”
Halls and Canada Dry have the same parent corporation, Cadbury Schweppes, so the licensing isn’t too hard to comprehend. I get the feeling that the cough drop was developed as a standard ginger flavor (as noted by Qadgop, not an unusual choice), then someone in the company decided to apply a little cross-market “synergy.” The ginger flavor complements menthol much better than the usual Halls fruit flavors IMO… now to convince them to exercise a little more synergy and bring out an A&W Root Beer Halls.
I picked up some hard candies at the local Indian grocer; mango and tamarind lozenges, flavored with cumin, black and red pepper, and a hefty dose of salt. Yum! (Several coworkers independently commented that they taste like vomit.)
A co-worker brought in some dark chocolate w/ absinthe the other day.
In any event, I like absinthe and licorice, in general and I like chocolate…so two great tastes that taste great together, right?
The “absinthe” part was faux-licorice with an overwhelming aftertaste of some undefined metal.
The dark chocolate was really baker’s chocolate.
Most vile concoction ever.
