There have been several incidents in the Denver area today of strange “powders” being found at the Post Office and Fed-Ex and at the airport (last night) and there has even been a lock down at a hospital. Have you been experiencing these type of things in your cities? It seems to me that these are the types of hysteria things that the terrorist would just love to see happen. It makes you wonder why people are even mailing powder??? One was determined to be pudding.
Was just looking at this site: http://www.poynter.org/dr_ink/
It gives characteristics of “weird mail.”
Good site Violet!
I am so sick and tired of hearing about Anthrax. How many experts do we need to tell us that it can be cured, that it is not infectious, that the type you get from inhaling is the worst type, that we shouldn’t be stockpiling antibiotics, and that terrorists can’t manufacturer the kind that can be spread easily in the air (and that it takes army type artillery to deliver it)? By noon I knew more than I wanted to about it.
My roommates told me that a letter was opened yesterday at Linton Hall here at Michigan State (the building where my boyfriend works… eek) that contained a white powder, and later we all got e-mails from the president of the university saying that it was only a letter from an “animal rights group” and “due to the hostile political situation”, everyone who came in contact with the envelope was taken to the hospital and tested or anthrax. Everything came out fine.
“Animal rights group”? Who was he trying to fool?
