I distinctly remember, in the 1970s, when Oral Roberts was pursuing Billy-Graham-type respectability, he would have special broadcasts featuring his University singers (one of whom was a young Kathy Lee) AND of all things the Sid & Marty Krofft puppets. I know I watched some of these but maybe my mind has spared me the memory of what the heck the Kroft puppets did.
Does anyone else have this memory of perhaps the oddest TV combo ever?
IMDB doesn’t mention it (although it does note that Oral Roberts had a guest shot on Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In once).
Are you sure they were genuine Krofft puppets? It just sounds like an odd career move, when the Krofft bros were semi-mainstream at the time.
I am sure, I distinctly recall the specials promoted “the Sid & Mary Krofft puppets” in the credits. And at that time, Oral Roberts was also semi-mainstream he had just accepted ordination in the Methodist Church
