Strange Vietnam War Incident-True?

I recall reading something that went like this:
Just before Cambodia enetered the war, a platoon of US soldiers strayed across the border into Cambodia. They were captured by Cambodian troops and interned. However, instead of being tried and jailed, they were cleaned up and taken for an audience with Prince Norodom Sihanouk.
Sihanouk lectured the soldiers about the evils that had done, then treated them to a state dinner-then had them repatriated.
I cannot find any details abot this-I sspect it might be a legent.
Anyone ever heard of this?

Cambodia never entered the war (at least not until the US left), but allowed US forces to stage at Phnom Penh Air Base. The Khmer Rouge were on the side of communist forces during the US involvement, but ended up having their own little war with Vietnam around 1975.
