Eighty-five times he’s pushed his disabled son, Rick, 26.2 miles in marathons. Eight times he’s not only pushed him 26.2 miles in a wheelchair but also towed him 2.4 miles in a dinghy while swimming and pedaled him 112 miles in a seat on the handlebars–all in the same day."
I am getting ready for a piddly 10k. This guy puts me to shame. But I am inspired as well.
I read about him a couple of days ago, that’s one hard core dude. The sad thing is I’ve seen races that have said you couldn’t do something like that.
I am extremely impressed.
All the same, I hope the guy never discovers bungee jumping.
I have to admit that I was initially put off by the music that accompanied the video but I ended up watching it to the end. That guy is amazing.
So now when his son says “My dad can beat up your dad!” nobody can say “nuh-uh!”.
He’s pretty much set through junior-high.
Damn…I am crying my eyes out. That was soooo touching.
What a pair!
By the way…
Can someone who knows about running tell me how their stats compare with “unencumbered” runners?
Holy crap those are some fast marathon times. I would say a lot of people would be happy under 4 hours and he’s under 3! The world record time is in the lost 2s. And the Ironman is just as impressive, I did one as a team we we only came in under 13 hours!
