Stuart Fails to Save the Universe - Big Bang Theory spinoff. Spoilers after first post

In one episode, we were told that Sheldon was appearing on Broadway, so the personality might be different enough to make it interesting for Jim Parsons?

I assumed they’re holding them back for another season.

I presume they are sending the messages.

I also think that we will see Parsons by the series finale.

My take is that he wouldn’t do a sequel that was him as a focus, but a one off walk on? It would be hushed until the finale is released.

Because if Leonard or Howard (or Sheldon) show up in any universe, they’ll be able to intuit how the machine was put together, how to program it to send Stuart et al back to our universe, and the series will be over. Other-universe Raj already had figured most of the machine out and Raj wasn’t even involved in its making. Barry seems to know how to adapt the device to give it a “steewing weel” but hasn’t yet been able to get the parts.

What is Barry’s science background, for those of us who didn’t watch BBT? They have told us Bert is a geologist but I haven’t been able to figure out what Barry’s deal is.

And also, Denise. Is she a scientist or just geek eye candy?

According to the BBT Wiki, “He is a Caltech plasma physicist and string theorist”.

Denise is the assistant manager at the comic book store. Not a scientist but certainly a nerd and comic book geek. “Eye candy” is in the eye of the beholder.

While Barry was the group’s antagonist in BBT, this Barry is from alternate universe #1, so it’s more difficult to discern his background and relationship to the group. He did appear to have a science background before he became ultimate dictator in his home universe.

Denise also came from alternate universe #1, but every iteration of her seems to be comic book nerd who was with Stuart in every universe.

The main Denise is from alternate universe 2

Maybe they’re saving it for later, but I was expecting them at some point to arrive in a universe where all that garbage (and the occasional dead body) from this Stuart’s first universe that they’d been stuffing into dimensional rifts all comes out.

Both Stuart and Bert retained their backgrounds so I think it’s likely that Kripke did as well.

Also, the personalities are no different.

I think the idea is that the apocalypse happened sometime after the BBT finale, so otherwise they’re still basically the same people.

Here it is.

Barry is a physicist that at times outshines Sheldon, and Denise is far more than eye candy (although she is quite cute). Her love for Stuart is what motivates him do do just about everything.

Stuart and Denise’s relationship can be summed up in this one clip from Big Bang Theory.

I finally got around to watching the season finale. The thing in the scene from the spoiler within the quote: Is it perhaps Penny, Amy, and Bernadette (as the half woman, because she’s short.)

Funny? Or cringey?

I’ve seen some blurry screen grabs. I don’t recognize any of the faces.

Anyway, Chuck Lorre said that the posters mean that the characters are not in our universe.
