I was just trying to broil some peppers in the broiler of my 50’s era Wedgewood stove. The drawer has become stuck. I can open it about 2 inches and the drawer will open about maybe 30 degrees. I put a roasting pan on top of the built in roasting pan. It was happily opening and closing until suddenly this problem occurred. Does anybody have any suggestions about how to get the drawer open. Thanks.
Well, I fixed it. I managed to dismantle the front of the door. There were two barely accessible screws which allowed me to remove the front panel, then I was able to remove the bolts holding the swing arms which allowed the door to drop full open. There’s a little access door on the side of the broiler whose plate fell off and jammed the friggin’ thing.
Screw roasting peppers. Next time I’ll just suck down the $6 for a can of Ortega chiles.
