Studio 60 picked up for a full season!!

From Cynopsis, a daily e-mail trade publication:

So, we are Alpha Viewers!!!

Hey, Charter Viewers.

Anyway, if watching this show will boost my income to 75K, I’m there.

Wow, a show I like AND it’s picked up for the entire season. I am SHOCKED! Pleasantly, but shocked nonetheless!

I am pleased because I like a weekly dose of Matthew Perry. There are several things that need to be fixed on this show. Perry is not one of them.

I like being an Alpha viewer.

I don’t like the show, but am happy about this for several reasons:

  1. It won’t be getting replaced by some crappy Deal or No Deal spin-off (thankyouthankyouthankyou) likely hosted by Carrot Top.

  2. I like to see shows with low ratings being given a chance to grow an audience.

  3. So I can tune in occasionally and come here to complain about how trite it is (and have several fans ask me why I’m even watching if I hate Sorkin so much).

Very cool news.

Okay, now that we’ve got one season in the bag, what’s the plan for Seasonn #2?

Oh, they would have to get Carrot Top because ABC already nabbed William Shatner for one.

It’s weird. I enjoy every episode of Studio 60. But I never look forward to it, and it’s hard for me to schedule the time to watch it on the Tivo.

I’m like that with “Desperate Housewives” and “Heroes.” I enjoy it, but I don’t look forward to it.

Unlike, say “Veronica Mars” or “Supernatural” where I want to watch them NOW NOW NOW.

“Studio 60” has been closer to the latter than the former, and fortunately my husband really likes it, too, so we both look forward to it.

How weird is that? I look forward to every episode, but haven’t really enjoyed it yet.

That’s not 100% true. I like Matthew Perry. I’m not going to look up the real names of the other actors… but … oh what the hell, with the exception of Amanda Peet, the Weber guy from Wings (Stephen?) and Matthew Perry’s character’s co-producer/writer dude, no one else really gives me the warm & fuzzies.

I think it would be a much better show about the drama of producing a show (any show) than about the problems with producing a sketch comedy show.

I’m the same way. Last week’s episode is still on my DVR. middlewoman and I usually watch it on Friday or Saturday when we don’t have any shows to watch (she doesn’t watch BSG).

We used to watch it on Tuesday (also no shows), but life is too hectic. I really like having a DVR.
