I realized my waist is very high when I was in my late teens. So I was way ahead of the curve on the low-rise jeans - normal jeans were always low-rise on me. The recent, fading (thank OG!) trend of low-rise jeans really sucked for me, as they would literally be falling off of me. I’d buy the highest waisted pants in the store and they’d still be 4 inches below my actual waist. Sigh.
Also, about a year ago, I was driving with my sister, and we were having a Deep Discussion, and I said to her, “I think out of all of dad’s kids (note: he had 7 kids), I’m the one most like him.” She looked at me really funny, then said, “Jen, you’re EXACTLY like dad, and mom and I have known that forever!” and started laughing at me. We were 31 at the time.
When I was about 18, my boyfriend told me how cute it was that the tip of my nose moved when I talked. I had no idea.
Recently I said something to my roommates about how I want to do an art project where I draw out a map of my dream-world. They looked at me like I was crazy. So I started asking some of my other friends, and so far I’m the only person I know of whose dreams tend to take place in recurring locales. Moreover, some of these places connect across dreams, which is what gave me the idea of trying to create an map that would contain and connect them all.
It’s taken me forever to realize that I’m really honest to goodness a grownup. I mean, other people my age now have grownup houses with nice furniture and guest rooms and stuff. Of course, they’re married couples, as opposed to a bachelor with two male roommates.
Still, I am a fully functional independent member of society. At family reunions, I am no longer in the children’s generation. My parents’ generation is now the old people, and my generation is now the parents (even though I myself am not a parent). Freaky.
Oh, and:
So, did it take you forever to realize that… you’re superfoxy?
Yeah, and the latest one I had, even in the dream I knew I was going to encounter a whole bunch of unusable toilets. The frigging thing happens so often I’m getting accustomed to it even in my sleep!
Same here. I am unhealthfully large, but I like my body in that it gains and loses weight all over, so I remain in proportion even as a big person.
