Nutella.
I’d rather just eat a Ferrero Rocher.

Tolkien – I should like it. I’ve done fantasy roleplaying games since the early 80’s, read a bunch of fantasy novels, played MMORPGs, etc. Never got into Tolkien though. Only ever watched the first LoTR film as well back when my kid was an infant and I was awake with him at 1am. Although part of that is just not wanting to dedicate a four hour block to a movie.
Prachett – Tried a couple books (don’t ask me which, it’s been ages) and they didn’t stick for me at all. The humor felt like a poor man’s Douglas Adams.
Cat Powers & Neko Case – If you were to browse my music collection you’d assume I’d be all into both of these ladies. On paper, I should be. In practice, I’m surprised at how much they just don’t do anything for me.
Joss Whedon – So many people I know and enjoy and find intelligent and funny love the guy. I find his catalog ranging from “Meh” to “Meh-plus”. I’m sure if I went through all of it, there’s a few “Oh, ok I did like that” titles in there but the fan worship just leaves me wondering what they’re all seeing.
Any type of superhero movie. I don’t mind the Batman movies but I really don’t car about Thor, the Avengers, each incarnation of Spiderman, The Hulk, etc.
I don’t care about Hobbits and fantasy worlds/stories similar to that style.
Star Wars. I’ve seen them upon the rerelease in theaters back in the 90s. Nice films. Maybe if I was a child or teenager when it was released I would have been able to appreciate the films more but I feel that it is lost on me.
Almost any scifi or fantasy movie, if I’ve already read the book.
I loved GOT and LOTR in book form. I stopped watching GOT halfway through the first season, and I haven’t seen any of the LOTR movies, even though I have had the DVDS that someone gave me as a Christmas gift just sitting here for a couple of years, and have made a few false starts. I guess it’s just that once I have a mental picture of a character, I don’t like screen realizations that don’t match it.
On the other hand, I liked the first couple of Star Trek series, and loved Firefly, both of which had no previously read books to compete with.
Led Zeppelin.
They were great when I saw them live, too, but I just can’t get excited about most of their recorded work.
Howard Stern. He is apparently so funny to warrant 3 Sirius radio channels, yet I have never heard him say anything that even amused me a little. And I usually really love comedy.
Second that.
Adding filters and effects to digital photos. I take photos so I can see what’s in the photo, but if filters are your thing, help yourself.
Speaking as someone who was a devoted Glee watcher for a long time, you’re probably better off never having gotten into it. The show is now in its fifth season, and I wouldn’t really recommend anything past the second season or maybe a handful of episodes scattered across the third season. The end of the third season provides what would have been a pretty decent ending for the series, with most of the significant characters graduating from high school.
Wow… you guys are a tough crowd.
The only thing I can think of is “The Walking Dead.”, and the reason I’m not excited about it is something that’s not unique to that show. Most shows with an inscrutable malevolent external enemy that keeps the good guys on their heels end up with the good guys getting a handle on the enemy, and then the shows inevitably devolve into some combination of soap operas, political dramas, about in-fighting, or other crap that I don’t care to watch.
Battlestar Galactica did this, although the soap operatic/political crap started before the Cylons were sort of sympathetic, and the real crap part started so late that I rode it out anyway.
“The Walking Dead” did it way too early; once they realized that they could fortify against the walkers, it was all downhill after that. They ceased to be a threat, and it became a post-apocalpytic soap opera less about fleeing the zombie menace, and more about standard soap opera-ey and political drama crap.
I don’t agree with this at all. I’ve seen plenty of shows and movies that make fun of geeks and nerds. Family Matters. Saved By the Bell. Riptide. Revenge of the Nerds. All of them are caricatures of nerds as seen through the eyes of the “average Joe.”
The Big Bang Theory is the first show that gets it right (especially the first two seasons). I’ve known (and/or been) each one of those guys in real life. I’ve had the same conversations that they’ve had… about Superman, Schroedinger’s Cat, time travel and teleportation, Green Lantern, and so on. It *is *aimed at me, and I’ve never felt it was laughing *at *me.
That said, my answer to the OP is… Battlestar Galactica. I’ve been an SF fan my whole life, devouring whatever meager TV fare was available (even The Starlost and Space: 1999). But the original BG bored me silly, so much so that I’ve never even watched the remake (even though I’ve been told it’s totally different; I just can’t get past the name).
Arcade Fire and Arctic Monkeys are two bands that apparently should be right up my alley, but somehow, aren’t.
There’s probably some clever joke with ‘arc’ somewhere in there (they arced right over my head?), but that, too, seems to elude me. If you find it, knock yourself out.
Music.
Music in general is ok, and I have the bands that I like and I have a handful of CDs (20 or so maybe?) I have a Pandora channel that I like, but on the whole music doesn’t really do anything for me and I’m not one to really seek it out or really get excited for it
All those comic book inspired movies with unrealistic superheros. Avengers, Batman, Ironman, transformers, etc. I’ll watch them when convenient but I just won’t be bothered if I happen to miss any of that stuff.
Yet I love a good SF or fantasy movie. Don’t know why I can’t let go of my disbelief and enjoy those action hero movies.
Adventure Time and the Venture Bros. I like cartoons. I like sci fi. Their senses of humor are right in my wheel house but I just don’t seem to care about either one.
Oh, my, yes re: Adventure Time. Everybody I know loves it. I watched it once and I thought it was the stupidest thing ever. I even get annoyed when I see grown men at Comic Con wearing that stupid hat.
Red Hot Chili Peppers
I’ve just never really liked their stuff. I appreciate their musical abilities – Flea on the bass in particular – and I also appreciate their “from out of nowhere” punk background, but taken as a whole I’m not very interested in their work. I like Give it Away and Higher Ground (and I am completely aware that it’s a cover). Californication sounded to me like they just gave up and wanted to write ballads or something.
My wife.
Thank you, I’ll be here all week. Tip your bartenders and wairtresses.
Smart phones - I finally got an iphone because my company provided one. I could totally live without it. The only app I can say I really like is the GPS via Mapquest. I certainly don’t want to play games on it.
DisneyWorld - I know people who go to Disney every year. To me, it’s like being caught in the 2nd dimension of hell. Crowds, overpriced everything, fake frivolity, someone save me from the Happiest Place on Earth!
Flowers - I got another flower delivery from my husband today. They’re nice, but I’d frankly rather get a tree that I can plant.
Shopping/browsing - I’m a girl and I hate to shop. I should turn in my girl card.
Another one for Dr. Who. And I say that as a guy who’s been chrushing on British programming lately.
Also Lost. This is a weird one for me. I actually enjoy watching the show. I’ve even done marathon runs on Hulu. But come the next day, I can’t bring myself to watch it anymore.
