StumbleUpon - what do those little coloured squares mean?

In StumbleUpon social networking, members have a little coloured square next to their names - it may be one of several colours, and may be partially or wholly filled with that colour - like a little progress meter.

Clearly it’s an indicator of some sort of value, but I can’t find any specifics on it anywhere - does anyone know exactly what it means?

Perhaps if you posted a link to what you speak of. I just spent about 20 minutes looking through the site and I didn’t see any little squares next to names.

Sorry. Next to all the usernames in the friends pages.

Also next to the names in the forum pages.

Damn. They don’t show up unless you’re logged in.

If you’re a stumbleupon user, click the ‘friends’ thing in the toolbar - you’ll see what I mean.

It looks like this

Bump for Stumbleupon users in different timezones.

I don’t have any SU friends, and I added you as a friend but it doesn’t have a block next to your name.

I am guessing it has to do with how many topics or articles you have in common, tho.

Thanks - yeah, it must be either an indicator of their status as a member, the size of their personal network, the closeness of their match with you, or something.

It’s just incredibly strange that there’s this little indicator box, supposedly telling me something, but nowhere can I find documentation telling me what it means.

They may have an alt tag on it, which isn’t popping up a tooltip because you’re in Firefox. Have you tried viewing it in IE and mousing over, to look for the tooltip? Or right-click-properties in FF?
