Stunning, yet someone actually posted this.

Eh? Whats your point. I’m not defending Christianity. Merely pointing out the violent, murderous religion than Islam is. To a far greater degree than Christianity. And you made some statement about Christians starting the Crusades? So what, Islam has had plenty of pogroms of its own.

If you can list the passages where God instructs Christians to rob, kill, rape and torture non-believers please do so. I gaurentee the number of passages in the Qu’ran will far out number them. And I mean passages where GOD specifically instructs Christians… because in the Qu’ran, every instruction to kill comes directly from Allah.

It seems that this thread has drifted far afield from the OP, which looks to me a lot like:

“I have a visceral reaction to ElJeffe’s posts, but since I have no actual way to rebutt his statements (many of which were clearly marked as opinion or conjecture), I’ll just post some rantings about him in the pit”

I know several Christian Fundamentalists who would disagree with the notion that the Bible is open to interpretation.

How do any of these passages from the Qu’Ran differ from the Christian assertion that non-Christians are going to burn in the fires of hell for all eternity?

Psalm 53:1: “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, and their ways are vile; there is no one who does good.”

Selectively quoting passages is a wonderful tactic when grinding an axe. Simply ignore all the stuff in the Qu’Ran that disagrees with the point you’re trying to force.

The original assertion by ElJeffe was that the laws of the US are derived from a uniquely Judeo-Christian tradition, specifically the Ten Commandments. This is immediately questionable, since the only commonality is in the prohibitions against killing and stealing (which are state crimes, not federal). ElJeffe’s implication is that JC-based societies are the only ones which prohibit murder and stealing and uses the allegedly greater violence of Islamic society to prove this point. He’s grasping at straws if you ask me.

racekarl: Appreciate the translation there. It seems that I lost my English to Absolute Moronic Twit dictionary. I trust you did the translation on the fly.
