I downloaded a virus on my computer Wedensday. Stupid! I should have known that game was bad–don’t quite remember which one it was, so I cant warn–but I downloaded it anyway. And of course it was swarming with viruses. Not only have I got virus alerts from vista security (much more annoying than windows security), but a stupid pseudo-anti spyware virus calling itself Spy Shredder keeps trying to force itself on the computer! Not only that, but the stupid !@#$ing vigilante security has locked me out of the C drive, D drive, network card (and thus the internet (I’m posting this from the library)), even the display for the desktop! About the only good thing is that Norton came up negative.
if you have a major issue getting online or getting apps to install and have access to another puter you can connect the drive to a functioning PC and scan it from there. Make sure your AV software is up and updated when you do it. The chance of cross contamination is actually fairly small.
