Stupid decisions made by a character in a book or movie

But did he know (or should he reasonably have known) that they intended he violence (of whatever stripe)?

I’m sure there are zillions for Star Wars. But one that’s always mystified me since I first saw the movie.

“Rather than attack the thermal exhaust port from the top, let’s skim down this super-long trench filled with laser cannon and little room to maneuver should ships get behind us?”

I’d suggest that you could get your wish if you watched Sidehackers (AKA Five the Hard Way, apparently), but, not to put too fine a point on it, it wouldn’t be worth it.

Dangit, my response was supposed to be to Scumpup.

But you need that approach for the torpedo laser thingies. Also, you would risk targeting from more and bigger guns at altitude… You can close distance on turrents much faster on a tube horizon, as well as use the tube to your own advantage and cover … they miss and they hit their own deathstar.

Anyway, it’s not impossible. Luke used to bullseye womp rats in his T-16 back home, they’re not much bigger than two meters.

Hey, didn’t you hear the medium? “This house is clean.”

What else could possibly go wrong?

My theory is that the trench meant that they could approach the Death Star from whichever angle had the least point defenses or worst sensor coverage, and then fly below the fire arcs of the heaviest gun batteries to their target.

Seen it…on MST3K. I can’t count MST3K movies because well…they usually involve ***deep hurting. ***

Yes. The farmhand promised the father of the raped woman that it wouldn’t happen again, not as in ‘I messed up’ but as in ‘she is now under my protection’.
