North’s convictions were vacated in 1991. I’m not even sure that it’s technically accurate to describe him as a felon, whatever we might think of his actions in the Iran-Contra affair and the subsequent investigation.
He’s charged with criminal recklessness and pointing a loaded firearm, and the guy who fought back with a smoothie was charged with misdemeanor intimidation and disorderly conduct. What’s wrong with that sentence…
Maybe there’s some NRA guy getting annoyed that lately there have been at least two cases where an unarmed guy has fought back and survived.
They gotta set an example; don’t even try to protect yourself without a gun, dammit !
I’m not entirely sure where this belongs. In many ways, it qualifies as a DGU with no deaths, so could go in “positive news”. He certainly could answer the question:“During the last 12 months, have you confronted another person with a firearm, even if you did not fire it, to protect yourself, your property, or someone else?” as a “Yes”, due to this encounter.
It is a good thing that this did not happen with the “positive news” lady that is currently featured in that thread.

I didn’t want to harsh their buzz in that thread, but shooting at someone while they are running away is the opposite of a DGU.
And, of course, just straight up stupid. You know you are asking for trouble when you are minding your own business in your own home.

In fact there was some years ago a case where a hunter tossed his rifle on the backseat of his car where his dog were. When a cat walked by, the dog jumped against the window and its hind leg pushed the trigger. Next day headline: A DOG SHOT A CAT !
'Straya counts a “mass shooting” as 5 or more victims in addition to the gunman. In this case, there were 6 or 7. But they all knew each other: it looks like a man shot up his family and then himself (police are not searching for a suspect).
Isn’t it nice of them to point out the flaw in their plan? The Second Amendment means the libs have guns, too. And now, assuming the sign isn’t taken down by law enforcement for terrorist threats, they have every reason to do exactly that. I know I wouldn’t feel safe in such a county.
